Our Core Philosophy

Pura Selva are ecological tree houses located in the province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica. The tree house is built using sustainable and eco-responsible materials and methods, with the goal of reducing its impact on the environment.

One of the main features of Pura Selva’s construction is the use of local materials, such as teak. These materials not only reduce our carbon impact, but also give the tree house a unique and natural esthetic.

In addition to its environmentally friendly construction, Pura Selva is also committed to the local community and the environment. Pura Selva supports local businesses by sourcing products and services from nearby suppliers. It also works with local organizations to promote sustainable tourism and support conservation efforts in the area.

Pura Selva’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond construction and community involvement, as the tree house has also committed to a reforestation plan. For every Tree House built, Pura Selva replants trees, helping to restore the local ecosystem and promote biodiversity in the region.

Guests staying at Pura Selva can participate in a variety of environmentally friendly activities, such as hiking, bird watching and wildlife watching in the area.

Restoring the Local Ecosystem

We actively support Savage Lands.

At Pura Selva, we are committed to preserving and restoring the local ecosystem, and we believe that reforestation plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.

Created by Dirk Verbeuren, Drummer of the American band Megadeth, Savage Lands has 2 objectives:
Buy land to turn it into protected natural sanctuaries.
And finance reforestation operations.

Savage Lands is being supported by many artist who embody the “Army of Trees” (see Hall of Fame at Savagelands.org)… “Savage Lands is a non-profit organization, recognized by the American administration and registered with the NGO registry in California.”

By supporting the Savage Land project, Pura Selva Tree House contributes to the protection of the pacific coast of Costa Rica and the promotion of sustainable practices. Both projects share a common vision of the importance of preserving nature and working in partnership with local communities to achieve this goal.

Moreover, Pura Selva Tree House’s support for the Savage Land project also helps to strengthen the ties between the two projects and create opportunities for future collaboration. The two projects can work together to promote a broader vision of sustainability and environmental protection.

Our Founding Story

From Friends to
Co-Founders

The Pura Selva Tree House project was born from a common idea shared by four friends who are passionate about nature and sustainability. They envisioned a project that would allow people to experience the beauty and wonder of nature while promoting sustainable living practices.

A Deep Connection
to Nature​

Inspired by their love of the forest and their desire to protect it, the four friends embarked on a journey to create the Pura Selva Tree House project. They spent countless hours researching and planning, drawing on their respective areas of expertise to create a vision for the project that was both innovative and sustainable.

The Origin of Our Treehouse

Together, they designed and built the first tree house, using locally sourced materials and environmentally friendly construction techniques. The tree house was an immediate success, with its unique blend of comfort, sustainability and natural beauty.

A Dream Turned into Reality
Our story began with a simple dream: to create a unique and unforgettable lodging experience that would allow visitors to connect with nature in a whole new way. We were inspired by the beauty and biodiversity of the Costa Rican jungle, and the idea of building a treehouse that would offer guests the chance to sleep among the trees took hold.
